What is VoIP Backhaul Solution?
A phone call from A to B transits a number of TDM Switches (Class4 and Class5). The network capacity between those Switches need to be adjusted according to the traffic between those areas. In order to manage peak traffic, overcapacity is deployed in the circuit-switched world.

Status Quo
In the backbone Class4 Transit/Tandem Switches are interconnected with Leased lines to carry traffic between them. For each E1/T1 a 2Meg./1.6Meg. is required, regardless if traffic goes through or not.
